Customization Options

There are even more customization options to add to your ring. These features are good ways to make your ring unique, especially if you would like a more simple setting, yet want to add flavor to the ring. All options can be written on the bottom of step 2 in the ring builder.

From below: simply copy and paste the blue text into the customization box on the ring builder.

We recommend keeping this page open on a separate tab to allow your previous selections in the ring builder to be saved.

What can we customize?

Use a different shape prong - no additional cost

The most common adjustment is using claw prongs instead of round prongs as shown below:

Add a hidden stone - additional cost : $100 per diamond, $80 per colored stone

There are a few different ways we can add a hidden stone:

hidden stone on the outside of the band

hidden stone on the inside of the band

hidden stone on the side of the head

hidden stone on the side of the head

hidden stone on the outside of the band

A hidden stone could be any colored stone, and or diamond. You can add a birthstone, or let us know what color and we can recommend a durable stone to use. Usually round stones work best for a hidden stone.

Use a half moon bezel instead of prongs - no additional cost

Half moon bezels are either curved or straight bars of metal that shape to the side of your stones in replace of prongs. They make a ring look more modern and smooth. It's our clean and innovative way to make a ring look less busy instead of using too many prongs.

For rings with multiple diamonds, we find that it's best to use half moon bezels on the side stones and keep the center stone in prongs. This creates a good mixture with the differences in the height of the center stone versus the height of the side stones. Your jewelry professional will guide you on how we can use half moon bezels based on the proportions and ratio of your stones.

For rings with one center stone in platinum: a halfmoon bezel is simply style choice because platinum prongs are strong enough to hold the stone in place.

For rings with one center stone in yellow gold: if it is a must to have your ring in all yellow gold, then half moon bezels are strongly recommended to secure your stone. The other options are platinum prongs, or thicker yellow gold prongs. We repair thousands of rings each year from other jewelers with loose or missing stones/and prongs issues because of lack of attention to detail and poor quality prongs.

Add engraving - written engraving: no additional cost

There are two types of engraving we can add to your ring: the first is written engraving. This is commonly written on the inside of the ring. Here are the fonts we recommend below:

You can specify which font, and what the engraving should say in the ring builder customization textbox on step 2.

Pattern engraving: cost can range from $100 - 300

The second is pattern engraving. We can add pattern or filagree into the ring with our engraving machines. This allows you to add style to your ring alike the engraving designs as shown below:

This option is best discussed through sketches, or with comparison photos. The engraving is one of the last steps in our production process, so we can refine or add engraving later (you don't have to decide this immediately).

Add cutouts - no additional cost

Cutouts come in many various shapes and styles. If you like the idea of the pictures below, then simply write cutout in the customization option textbox on step 2 of the ring builder and our jewelry professionals will include an appropriate cutout in your design.

Change the setting style for diamonds down the side - no additional cost

There are a few different setting styles to choose from:

These shared prongs are the most simple and clean style

Channel setting is where stones are set with metal on both sides only

Pave style is where stones are set with metal on both sides and prongs in between

Use U shaped curved rails - no additional cost

U shaped rails are an innovative way to make the rails that sit directly underneath the stone curved instead of straight.

Add a cathedral setting - no additional cost

A cathedral setting is where the band's connection to where the diamond sits is flush as shown below:

Notice how the yellow gold band rises to the same level as the platinum and diamonds in the above rings

This is best used when you want the stones in the ring to protrude as little as possible.

Other customization options:

  • A non symmetrical design - you can work with your jewelry professional to sketch and design a non-symmetrical ring

  • Move a stone higher or move a stone lower - some customer request their stones sit lower in order to avoid accidental knocks on surfaces, and prevent extra wear when in use.

  • Make a band more thick - this is for style purpose. Yes, making the width of the band thicker helps durability, but we will never make a ring too thin where it compromises durability.

  • Add a hidden halo underneath the center stone - additional cost $350

Here we included a yellow diamond on each end of the cluster - adds $250

We made this ring with wood grain - adds $500 and vines - adds $300

You can always ask your jewelry professional what else can be done to customize your ring even further. We will guide you based on what is feasible in order to keep structural integrity in the ring.
