Who We Are
The Right Ring is a custom jewelry design studio based in Rhode Island, USA, operating therightring.com and build.therightring.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our sites or interact with our services — regardless of where you are located.
By using our website, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.
Information We Collect
You Provide Directly
Via forms (Save My Design, Free Sample, Deposit, or contact): your name, email, phone, ring design preferences, shipping address, payment info (processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers), and any notes you include.
Google Sign-In (Optional)
If you use Google sign-in to pre-fill our forms, we receive only your name and email address from Google. We do not access your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data. Google sign-in is optional.
Collected Automatically
IP address, browser type, pages visited, traffic source, device type, and anonymized session recordings via Microsoft Clarity.
We do not collect SSNs, government IDs, or financial account numbers. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or 16 in the EU).
How We Use Your Information
To respond to inquiries, process deposits, ship samples, save designs, send transactional and opt-in marketing emails (via Mailchimp), improve the site, measure advertising effectiveness, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For EEA/UK visitors: contract performance (to fulfill your order or sample request), legitimate interests (to improve our services and communicate with you), consent (for marketing emails and analytics — withdrawable anytime), and legal obligation (tax and financial record-keeping).
Third-Party Services
Stripe
Deposits are processed by Stripe, Inc. (PCI-DSS Level 1). Your card data goes directly to Stripe and never passes through or is stored on our servers. Stripe Privacy Policy
Mailchimp

Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies (required for the site to function), analytics cookies (Google Analytics), advertising cookies (Meta Pixel), and session recording (Microsoft Clarity). You can accept or decline non-essential cookies via the banner that appears when you first visit. EU visitors will not receive non-essential cookies without explicit consent.
Data Retention
Inquiries and design data: up to 3 years. Payment records: 7 years (legal requirement). Email list: until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Analytics: per each provider's standard schedule. You may request deletion of your data at any time.
Data Security & International Transfers
All data transmitted through our websites uses HTTPS encryption. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe. We are based in the USA — EU/UK data may be transferred under Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards. Our third-party processors (Stripe, Google, Meta, Mailchimp, Microsoft) maintain their own transfer safeguards.
EU & UK Resident Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccuracies, request erasure, restrict processing, receive a portable copy, object to processing (including direct marketing), withdraw consent at any time, and file a complaint with your national Data Protection Authority.

California Resident Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents may: know what personal information we collect and how it's used, request deletion, correct inaccurate data, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal data. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Rhode Island Resident Rights (RIDTPPA)
Under the Rhode Island Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act (effective January 1, 2026), Rhode Island residents have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising. Acceptance of Terms
By using therightring.com or build.therightring.com, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy above. These Terms are a legally binding agreement under the laws of Rhode Island, USA, and apply to customers worldwide including the United States, European Union, and other countries.
Our Services
The Right Ring provides custom engagement ring and fine jewelry design services, including: an interactive 3D design tool at build.therightring.com, the ability to save and share custom ring designs, a complimentary 3D-printed sample model program, custom ring manufacturing and fulfillment, and design consultations. All custom pieces are made to order.
Use of the Design Tool
Our design tool is provided solely for exploring custom jewelry options with The Right Ring. You may not use it to reproduce designs for third-party manufacturing, scrape or reverse-engineer any part of the tool or website, submit false or misleading information, or use our site in any way that violates applicable law.
Deposits, Payments & Refunds
Deposits
A deposit is required to begin production. The deposit amount is confirmed in your written order agreement and processed securely via Stripe.
Refund Policy
Within 48 hours (before production begins): Fully refundable. After production begins: Non-refundable once materials have been ordered or fabrication has commenced. Completed custom orders: All sales are final — each piece is uniquely made to your specifications. Manufacturing defects: We will repair or replace any piece with a verified manufacturing defect at no charge within 90 days of delivery.
EU / UK Consumer Rights Notice
Custom-made jewelry pieces are exempt from the standard 14-day statutory right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), as they are goods made to the consumer's specifications. This exemption applies once production has commenced. Your statutory rights regarding defective goods remain fully intact.
Free Sample 3D Model Program
Complimentary 3D-printed samples are provided for personal, non-commercial evaluation only. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue this program at any time.
Intellectual Property
All website content — including the design tool, product photography, graphics, copy, and 3D model assets — is owned by The Right Ring and protected by U.S. and international copyright and trademark law. Your custom design configuration is yours for personal use. The Right Ring retains the right to photograph and display completed pieces in our portfolio and marketing materials unless you request otherwise in writing before your order is completed.
Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Our website and design tool are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. On-screen representations of metals, gemstones, and finishes are approximations — finished pieces may vary due to monitor calibration and the nature of handcrafted work. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Right Ring shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Rhode Island, USA. Disputes shall be resolved in state or federal courts in Rhode Island. EU customers retain the right to bring disputes in the courts of their country of residence and may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
